5 Keys To Success Using A Positive Mindset When Building Your Business

Positive mindsets help with successBuilding your own business is a fantastic and challenging experience. You can wake up exhilarated to begin your day and go to bed feeling overwhelmed and frustrated. The key to success is to maintain a positive, I can do this, mindset.

Easier said than done sometimes, but you can do it

Below are 5 keys to help you create and sustain a positive mindset so you can attain the success in your business you desire.

1.  Surround yourself with positive people who are successful in their own fields.

The influence that other people have over our own personal energy is amazing. Moods and attitudes are so easily spread – think about how much of a difference a simple smile from a stranger can make for your day and then magnify it 1000 times to demonstrate the power of positive and successful friends, family and associates. When you have attracted people around you who inspire you, believe in you and want you to succeed, there’s no room for self doubts and even if they creep in, you can sweep them away much easier.

2.  Create an affirmation or mantra and repeat it regularly.

Repeating positive affirmations has been shown to get people through tough times and to actually help them truly believe what they’re saying.

For example, “I am building a strong and profitable business.” Many of the highest business professionals have used this, and similar affirmation strategies to help achieve their success. To find the right affirmations for you, consider writing a quick list of your doubts, insecurities and fears. You can then quickly turn these into affirmations.

For example; if you write that you’re always feeling out of control and disorganised then your affirmation would be, “I am organized and in control.” Keep repeating your affirmations several times a day and feel the power of positive thinking.

3.  Identify and note negative thoughts.

Everyone has negative thoughts from time to time, however, negative thoughts and emotions can make us lose focus and prevent us from achieving the success we desire. Of course catching your negative thoughts takes practice and perseverance. When you notice your thinking negative thoughts or your emotions turn negative, find yourself a trigger to change them around. Using the affirmations mentioned above are a great start to turn the negative into the positive. You can also use some quick pick me ups, like your favorite song, a walk outside in the fresh air, or do some exercises to help improve your mood.

4.  Set your goals and intentions and then be prepared to let them go.

The law of attraction states we attract what we focus on the most. However, desperation, frustration and constantly thinking of how your business to be a success, sends mixed messages and a whole lot of negativity out into the universe. Set your goals and intentions and then let them go. A certain amount of faith in both yourself and in the power of attraction is necessary, but given time you will see this work. Go ahead, give it a try, you really have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

5.  Be grateful for what you have now.

Gratitude is perhaps the single most powerful and positive tool for success. When you’re grateful for all of the wonderful things and people in your life the challenges you face seem significantly less important and are more easily dealt with.

Consider keeping a gratitude journal and make a practice of entering into it daily. That way, when you’re facing challenges a quick peek at all the amazing things in your life will make you feel as if you can tackle anything. Also, an attitude of gratitude can help you maintain a positive perspective and to turn challenges into opportunities rather than obstacles.

All these tips can help you to be more positive in your outlook both in your business and in general. Success is within your reach and with the right attitude you can accomplish whatever you set your sights on. Embrace and live these five powerful mind success strategies and you’ll not only build a better business but also live a happier, more satisfying life.

  • I love your opening thoughts as I do start each day excited, positive & sometimes end the day feeling discouraged or frustrated. Generally I use the 5 good tips you listed. I also communicate with people who help me stay positive, on track & focused.

    • I too start each day positive Roslyn, and usually end each day the same way. I have found it takes a lot less effort being that way and helps motivate me when I need it. Not many people out here to communicate with in person so I appreciate the online friends I have such as yourself to help me stay positive and focused too. Cheers, Ian

  • All of these are powerful contributing factors to creating a successful business Ian. I think having the skill to stand back and be able to objectively look at our own “negative” patterns and thoughts, is so very key to actually being able to transform them. I’ve heard that one negative unconscious belief, is infinitely more powerful than all the positive thoughts or affirmations we can do. The key is to unroot the thought at its core. Having positive people around to support us always makes a difference, as often their energy is contagious and helps to shift us when we are in a not so positive place. Overall, it is important to find what works for us and to make sure we have a dose of uplifting and positive energy around us at all times!

    • Thanks for your great comment Beverley, sounds like you know the way to stay positive! Cheers, Ian

I think number five is worthy of remembering because it not only combats negativity but creates a shift in your perspective. Being in a perpetual state of Gratitude anchors you to the present moment and matches with the vibration of Now, where life is taking place. A simple thank you for the breeze that is gently blowing as I write for example, reminds me of where I am and how much there is to be grateful for.

Thank you Ian for your post which definitely helps in creating a conducive environment for building a successful business.
